Denied by Ayotte, Is AG Formella Seriously Eyeing A Run for Congress?

CONCORD, NH — Having been denied another term as Attorney General by Governor Kelly Ayotte, John Formella appears to be eyeing a new political lifeline. According to a new website registration logs discovered this week, Formella appears to be laying the groundwork for a backup plan: a campaign for Congress.

While Granite Staters are concerned about skyrocketing prices and tax hikes, Formella has spent his time with far right distractions like defending the gun lobby, stripping away medication abortion access, and eroding environmental protections. When other states banded together to preserve critical funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Formella chose to stand by Trump and Musk, leaving New Hampshire out in the cold, creating a $80 state budget shortfall while other states got their money back.

“John Formella has spent nearly a decade defending Trump’s most extreme policies, from gutting environmental protections to undermining abortion rights and blocking gun safety laws, all while helping to create an $80 million hole in our state budget,” said Amplify New Hampshire Executive Director Ryan Mahoney. “Instead of standing with hardworking Granite Staters, Formella has shown time and time again that he will prioritize corporations, lobbyists, and the ultra-wealthy. New Hampshire deserves leaders who will fight for working people, for lower costs, and to protect Granite Staters even when it means standing up to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their dangerous economic policies.”

As Attorney General, Formella has done anything but protect New Hampshire, leading with a far right ideology that has put the state’s safety and prosperity at risk.
