As this year comes to a close and we prepare to enter the new year, we want to say thank you to each and every one of you for joining us in 2024. While this year may have been a difficult one at the ballot box, together we were able to make a significant impact on the challenges facing hardworking Granite Staters. We know we have a lot to do over the next year, but we hope you get a chance to rest and recharge over the next few weeks and we’ll be back in 2025!

But before we start the new year, let’s take a moment to look back at all we were able to accomplish in 2024.

Launch of the Granite Post

At the start of 2024, we partnered with the Courier News Network to launch the Granite Post, a social-media-first newsroom dedicated to factual, relevant, pro-democracy, local news, here in New Hampshire! The Granite Post was created with the intent to add important new voices to New Hampshire’s media ecosystem -- not only fighting misinformation, but bringing important issues and unique stories to the attention of Granite Staters who don't get their news from traditional media sources. The Post’s reporters bring accessible local news and reporting directly to readers by meeting them where they spend their time on-line on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok.

Since its launch, the Granite Post has embraced human-centered reporting to share the real issues facing Granite Staters in every corner of our state. And during this past election season, the Granite Post served as a trustworthy local source, breaking down complex topics into easy-to-digest formats to give voters the facts needed to make informed decisions when casting their ballot.

Holding Kelly Ayotte Accountable on Her Abortion Record

This past spring, we launched a 30-second ad fact-checking Kelly Ayotte’s lies about her decades of opposition to abortion rights and repeated attempts to limit IVF access. You may have seen it on youtube, connected tv, social media, or seen the accompanying banner ads on news sites.

For decades, Kelly Ayotte's political career revolved around banning abortion and limiting IVF access. However, Ayotte denied this outright in interviews and statements leading up to Election Day. Our ad worked to bring awareness to Ayotte’s hypocrisy regarding her record, as well as highlight the facts of her actions to repeatedly limit reproductive freedom in New Hampshire, and across the nation.

Highlighting Failures of MAGA Republicans in NH

Ahead of Election Day this fall, we launched an additional digital ad campaign featuring a 30-second spot titled "It's Time for a Change," which highlighted MAGA Republicans’ failure to drive down costs or cut taxes for working families despite their total control of the New Hampshire State House. The digital ad spend totaled north of $300,000 targeting persuadable New Hampshire voters in key legislative districts.

The ad’s narrator detailed New Hampshire’s challenges and Republicans’ failure to meet them:

“Here in New Hampshire, costs are too high, taxes are out of control, our freedoms are at risk, but what have MAGA Republicans at the state house focused on? Stripping away women’s rights, banning books, raising our taxes to give handouts to the ultra-wealthy. Republicans have controlled New Hampshire for too long, become distracted by their far right ideology, and taken us down the wrong path. It’s time for a change. Democrats all the way down the ballot.”

Additionally, the ad highlighted MAGA Republicans’ radical agenda, including:

  • Their enactment of a restrictive abortion ban and attempts to pass an even more radical 15-day abortion ban that outlets say would amount to an outright abortion ban in the wake of the repeal of Roe v. Wade

  • Their party-line vote for a bill to ban books in New Hampshire schools, which received the support of every Republican in the New Hampshire Senate

  • Tax cuts that disproportionately favor the ultra-wealthy while failing to give New Hampshire working families a tax break.

2024 Training Wrap Up

Throughout 2024, we hosted a series of virtual training sessions geared towards helping New Hampshire advocates effectively communicate with Granite State voters on the key issues impacting their lives. These trainings ranged in topic from digital activism, issue messaging, and storytelling.

By participating in these trainings, fellow New Hampshire activists were able to learn the basics about digital activism, as well as learn about the issues most important to Granite Staters. Utilizing this information, participants were able to learn effective ways to convey information and key ways to have an impact when utilizing online spaces to advocate for candidates, policy and more.

We’ll be back with more trainings in 2025; stay tuned for more information regarding upcoming training dates and topics.

A Quick Preview of What’s Coming in 2025

While we take some time at the end of the year to catch our breath, be sure to stay tuned for what Amplify NH will be working on in 2025. We’ll be continuing to grow our online community, explore new technology and ways of reaching Granite Staters where they are, offering trainings and resources to advocates and hardworking Granite Staters so that we can make progress on the most pressing challenges facing our state and hold our elected leaders accountable for their work in Concord and in Washington.
