Once Again, MA Politician Scott Brown Tries to Make NH His Back-Up Plan

Amplify NH to NHGOP: ‘Don’t Mass Up New Hampshire’

MANCHESTER, NH – Former Massachusetts Politician Scott Brown’s political career is a masterclass in opportunism, chasing the next political title instead of improving the lives of his fellow citizens. After losing his Massachusetts Senate seat, losing a carpetbagging New Hampshire Senate run, and securing a cushy ambassadorship during President Trump’s first term, Scott Brown’s next trick might be in the Trump Cabinet… or another stint in New Zealand… or behind door number three? Another run for New Hampshire Senate.

In 2024 alone, Scott Brown has pitched himself for three different roles: Homeland Security Secretary in a Trump Cabinet, U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand (again), and now a New Hampshire Senate seat he’s already lost once. Amplify NH Executive Director Ryan Mahoney said the following in response to Scott Brown’s latest ambitions:

“Massachusetts Politician Scott Brown is looking for a job…again. After pitching himself for several Trump Administration posts, he’s looking at New Hampshire as Plan C. When Scott Brown comes to the Granite State, it’s never about how he can serve New Hampshire—it’s about what New Hampshire can do for Scott Brown. The people of New Hampshire deserve better than to be the backup plan of a career politician from Massachusetts. In the words of Republicans Chris Sununu and Kelly Ayotte: Put the 603 first and Don’t Mass Up New Hampshire!

Along his winding road in politics, Brown has left a trail of controversies in his wake. As a senator, he repeatedly voted against the Affordable Care Act, his fight to stop insurance from covering birth control, and he has a history of opposing "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell." His embarrassing lack of knowledge about New Hampshire, including his failure to place Sullivan County during his last campaign was an embarrassment to the state. And in 2017, as U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand, he faced accusations of sexually inappropriate and undiplomatic conduct, putting the U.S. in global headlines for all the wrong reasons, creating a pattern established when a Fox News host accused him of the same thing a year prior.

Scott Brown graduated from Wakefield High School in Massachusetts, Tufts College in Massachusetts, and lived in Newburyport where his father was a city councilor for 18 years in Massachusetts, inspiring Brown to run for Property Assessor, Town Selectman, and State Representative in Wrentham, where he served for 18 years in Massachusetts state and local government, after which he ran for for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts and representing Massachusetts for 2 years before being defeated by Elizabeth Warren in 2012.

In the wake of another Trump victory, the gentleman from Massachusetts is clawing for another chance at power, framing himself once again as a Senate candidate for New Hampshire. But New Hampshire doesn’t need doesn’t need a self-serving politician from over the border, but instead a leader from New Hampshire who puts New Hampshire first and focuses on getting results for Granite State families, not padding his own political resume.
