Scott Brown Brags About MA Roots, Vows To Be a MAGA Rubber Stamp In Latest Interviews

MANCHESTER, NH — In an interview Wednesday with Contact Politics, career Massachusetts politician Scott Brown, in the lead-up to a potential second-attempt campaign for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire laid out his case. The only problem? All the experience he cited as “assessor, selectman, state representative, state senator, [and] U.S. Senator” happened in neighboring Massachusetts, not in New Hampshire where he now claims to hail from, despite working and coaching basketball in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the last several years.

His MAGA Republican loyalty extends to controversial cabinet members like Robert Kennedy Jr. whose vaccine conspiracy theories made his nomination too problematic for even Mitch McConnell to support. Brown — who may know Kennedy Jr. from his long history in Massachusetts — revealed that he helped prep Kennedy for his nomination hearing.

“Scott Brown is the full trifecta of what Granite Staters find unappealing: a career politician who’s spent his whole life in government, from Massachusetts, and who would just be a partisan rubber stamp. That’s why New Hampshire rejected him in 2014 and will reject him again,” said Amplify New Hampshire Executive Director Ryan Mahoney. “We should believe him when he pledges loyalty to Trump and his allies and vows to be a rubber stamp for dangerous, out-of-touch Republican policies. Unfortunately for him, that’s not what New Hampshire is looking for. We need independent-minded leaders with courage, whose first priority is hardworking New Hampshire constituents who need a champion. Scott Brown is none of those things.”

As a dangerous cherry on top of a disastrous media day, Scott Brown, a former U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand, pledged support for Trump’s rhetoric about invading Greenland, saying that he hadn’t been there, but that he had been to Iceland and they are basically the same. Geography buff Scott Brown, who had to be schooled on where all the New Hampshire counties were as recently as 2014, is exploring a run to replace Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Jeanne Shaheen.
